Dr. Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health is attending the 4th Meeting of the 26th Standing Committee of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (18-19 May) and the 72th World Health Assembly (opened May 20) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Besides, on May 18, the meeting was arranged by the Regional Evaluation Group, were all candidates to the post of the WHO Regional Director for Europe delivered oral presentations, followed by questions from the member states. Candidate of Georgia to this position is Dr. Nata Menabde, who is involved in the election process with 5 other candidates.
