The three-day Regional Workshop “TAIEX Multi-country Workshop on Environmental and Public Health Tracking - as a tool for an overall capacity improvement” organized by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and financed by the EU with the framework of TAIEX Instrument will be held on January 30 - February 1, 2019 in the hotel “Holiday Inn”, Tbilisi, Georgia.
The goal of the workshop is to share best practices of EU countries in the field of environmental and public health, and present views and recommendations of the European Disease Prevention and Control Center (ECDC), which will help participant countries to approximate environmental health system to EU norms and requirements and to develop strategies, methodologies and other relevant documents related to Environmental Health issues.
The workshop is attended by 94 participants, among which are employees of relevant departments of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the occupied territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Georgia, Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, environmental and public health specialists from the academia as well as from the civil sector, also foreign experts, representatives form international organizations and government agencies of the countries of the region (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Kingdom of the Netherlands, USA, China - 46 foreigners), whose mandate includes environmental health issues (public organizations working on public health and environmental issues).
