On October 2 The National Center for Disease Control and Public Health hosted special guests - Prof. Dr. med. Tomas Löscher, Emeritus Director of the Institute for Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the Ludwig Maximilian University (Munich, Germany), a member of the German Immunization Commission (STIKO), country representative for Infectious Disease Control at WHO, Prof. Dr. med. Peter Winkler, Emeritus Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Salzburg University Hospital (Austria), Board member of the Salzburg University Clinics and Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. George Grigolia, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), Head of the Board of the Deutsche Diagnostics Directorate, Honorary Doctor of Tbilisi State Medical University.

During the meeting Director General of the Center Professor Amiran Gamkrelidze introduced the role of the NCDC in the country's healthcare system, it’s strategic directions, response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and discussed the ongoing vaccination against COVID-19. At the end of the meeting, the guests discussed the possibilities of future scientific cooperation and the development of research directions.
