It is for the third time now that Georgia joins the global May Measurement Month (MMM) campaign led by the International Society of Hypertension (ISH). Its goalis to improve world health through raised awareness around blood pressure.
Georgia is among 90 countries, where this great, synchronized campaign took place with the coordination of the Georgian Society of Hypertension (GSH) and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC).
The results of MMM17 were published in 2018 May , in The Lancet Global Health Journal.
lately, the results of 39 countries, including Georgia, have been published in the European Heart Journal.
In 2017-2018, up to 20 thousand people were screened for blood pressure and given advice about what they need to do next. Such results were achieved thanks to the participation of up to 500 volunteer doctors in the campaign. Special mention deserves the activity of the regional NCDC networks and of the regional public health centers, operating in parallel with the screening by the GSH teams of doctors.
The MMM19 campaign opened on May 3 in the town of Telavi.After the Opening Ceremony -screening action took place.
On May 4, in the music school organized population, was conducted medical examinations ,,BE AWARE OF YOUR PERSONAL CARDIOVASCULAR RISKS ‘’, within the framework of MMM19.
