Project Summary

a). Project Objectives:

Study of  Risk Factors and Molecular Epidemiology of Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae   in Georgia.

b). Project implementation:

• Data collection for CRE prevalence and risk-factors investigation;

• Identification of  Enterobacteriaceae strains and antimicrobial susceptibility testing

• Screening of CRE isolates for carbapenemase genes;

• Bioinformatics analyses of CRE plasmids.

c). Expected results:

• Epidemiology and risk factors of the Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae  will be studded in Georgia;

• The epidemiology and distribution of carbapenem gene in Georgia will be studied.
