Project Summary

a). Project Objectives:

To decrease the burden of tuberculosis and its impact over the overall social and economic development in Georgia, by ensuring universal access to timely and quality diagnosis and treatment of all forms of TB.


b). Project implementation:

  • Provide universal access to early and quality diagnosis of all forms of TB including M/XDRTB;

  • Provide universal access to quality treatment of all forms of TB including M/XDR-TB with

appropriate patient support;

  • Enable supportive environment and systems for effective TB control;

  • Strengthen the health system's cross-cutting functions and performance for TB and HIV/AIDS control.


c.) Expected results:  

Decrease TB illness and deaths and prevent further development of drug resistance.
