Institutional Biosafety Committee functions on the base of NCDC/Lugar Center. its duty is to provide with the policies, standard operating procedures (SOP) and methodological guidelines to ensure the fulfillment of the requirements related to the safe use of different biological materials according to the  Biosafety and Biosecurity Principles . Materials which are mentioned above,  includes: infectious agents, selected agents, especially dangerous pathogens, human’s and primates’ materials (including prepared cell lines), and recombinant DNA-s. The Committee provides to create such working and procedural conditions which compromise to avoid the hazards related to the biorisks  for researchers, laboratory workers, the public and the environment.
The Biosafety committee  also develops recommendations and advices for NCDC director.
