On March 11, 2022, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health was visited by H.E. Diego Colas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Georgia, and Ms. Berengère Callamand, Deputy Head of the AFD Office for the South Caucasus, who supervises and manages the financial cooperation of AFD in the South Caucasus on health and social sectors.
High level guests visited the Lugar Center for Public Health Research and held a meeting with Director General and the management team of NCDC. The sides highlighted historical cooperation between Georgia and France, reviewed current cooperation projects and expressed a desire to further deepen the existing collaboration between two countries.
The visit of French Ambassador was especially significant, as the first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the EU Twinning Project “Support to Improving Health Impact Assessment Practice in Georgia” was held the same day at the NCDC. Ambassador Colas reaffirmed his support to the project and expressed his wishes for its successful implementation.
