PROJECT DISCLOSURE NOTICE
Project: Georgia: Enhancing Early Warning Systems by Using
Genomic Surveillance and One Health Approach (P511731)
Financing: The Project will be financed through a grant from the
Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPR) Trust Fund, administered by
the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank).
Development objective: The development objective of
the Georgia: Enhancing Early Warning Systems by Using Genomic Surveillance
and One Health Approach Project is to strengthen Georgia's capacity to
implement a functional early warning system and an integrated disease and
antimicrobial resistance surveillance system based on the One Health approach.
Beneficiary
Institutions and implementing partners: Ministry of Internally Displaced
Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia
(MoILHSA) and Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA),
including the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), the State Laboratory
of Agriculture (SLA), and the National Food Agency (NFA).
The draft Environmental
and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) is hereby disclosed for public information
and comments until July 10, 2026.
