Project Title: “International Lead poisoning Prevention Week in Georgia”, WHO/Euro; Project Duration: 16.09.2013 – 28.02.2014.
Project Summary
a). Project Objective:
To prepare and organize International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week in Georgia (20‐26 October 2013).
b). Project implementation:
Raise the awareness of government authorities and legislators, the private sector, manufacturers, consumers, workers, trade unions and health‐care providers about the toxicity of lead in paints and the availability of technically superior and safer alternatives;
c) Expected outcomes:
International Campaign in Georgia was coordinated. Flyers and brochures were developed and distributed among the participants. Moreover, developed flyers and brochures were given to the Public Health Regional Centers of NCDC&PH that are able to distribute the information across the country.
