The Lugar Center contains BSL-2 and BSL-3 facilities, which is unique for the Caucasian region. The National Repository is located in the BSL-3 facility. In this facility access is very restricted and controlled by iris scanners. The BSL-3 facility is a multiuser laboratory which is equipped with modern special engineering and alarm systems, such as unidirectional airflow, differential air pressure alarms, double airlock doors, an ante-room with showers, pass-through autoclave, isolated decontamination system, and appropriate laboratory equipment.
